I saw this on BBC Good Food and I just had to give it a go..and do you know what? It's delightful!
Ingredients
- 120g granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg, separated
- 10 - 12 plums (they don't need to be ripe)
For the original BBC Good Food recipe please see here: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/sugar-plums
- 120g granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg, separated
- 10 – 12 plums (they don’t need to be ripe)
Preheat the oven at 200°C/400°F/gas 6.
In a bowl combine the sugar and cinnamon. Having separated the white from the egg, whisk them up in a bowl until fluffy.
Take each plum and dip it in the egg white, roll it in the sugar, then place into a buttered roasting tin and bake for 15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the juice is starting to ooze out.
