How To Make Porridge

A hearty serving of porridge will always see you right!

Ingredients

  • 1 mug of oats
  • 3 mugs of water/milk
  • sea salt
  • 500ml cloudy apple juice
  • 1 knob of butter
  • 150g blueberries
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 banana 
  • 1 tsp cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla 

  • 1 mug of oats
  • 3 mugs of water/milk
  • sea salt

Grab a high sided pot and a bag of proper porridge oats. 1 mug of oats with 3 mugs of water will be enough for 4 people. Add a pinch of sea salt, bring to the boil and then turn down to low heat for 10-15 minutes.

Just before ready, loosen with milk and a touch of honey or sugar. Done!

Apple Caramel 

  • 500ml cloudy apple juice
  • 1 knob of butter

Simmer your cloudy apple juice on medium-low heat for 30 minutes then finish with a knob of butter.

Blueberry Compote

  • 150g blueberries
  • 1 tbsp honey

Add the blueberries and honey to a dry pan and cook on medium heat for 4 minutes until jammy.

Banana Chocolate

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tsp cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Smush the ingredients together.
