Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears, cored and sliced into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • Soft goat's cheese (to taste)
  • walnuts, crushed (to taste)

  • 2 ripe pears, cored and sliced into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • Soft goat’s cheese (to taste)
  • walnuts, crushed (to taste)

Prepare the pears by removing the cores. Cut them into thin slices or wedges, depending on your preference.

In a large frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat until it starts to bubble.

Add the pear slices to the pan and cook them for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and slightly caramelised. Make sure to flip them gently to avoid breaking them apart.

Once the pears are cooked, drizzle them with honey while they are still in the pan. Allow the honey to warm up and coat the pears evenly. Toss gently to ensure all slices are coated.

While the pears are cooking, toast the sourdough bread slices until they are golden brown and crispy.

Take each slice of toasted sourdough and spread a generous amount of soft goat’s cheese on top. Place a few slices of fried pears on each slice of bread, arranging them evenly. Sprinkle crushed walnuts over the pears.

The dish is now ready to be served!
