Mince Pie Twists

Ingredients

  • 2 x 320g Jus-Rol Ready Rolled Shortcrust Pastry Sheets
  • 2 x 410g jars mincemeat
  • 180g Braeburn apples (roughly 2 apples)
  • 1 large orange, zest of
  • 25ml brandy (optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • caster sugar and cinnamon mixed to sprinkle

Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/gas 6.

We’re going to start by jazzing up our jars of shop-bought mincemeat. Decant them into a bowl and mix the grated apple, orange zest, brandy and cinnamon in. Have a try and taste how good that is!

Carefully unroll out the ready-rolled pastry sheets. Use the greaseproof paper supplied with the pastry to line two large baking trays.

Spread one pastry sheet with the mincemeat evenly to the edges and lay the other sheet on top.

Sprinkle over a dusting of caster sugar and cinnamon and use your hands to press the sugar mixture into the pastry.

Cut into 16 equal-sized strips twist each strip holding both ends and place on the prepared baking sheets.

Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes until golden and dust with icing sugar, once cool.
