Granola Bars

Breakfast on the go or a midday snack, these granola bars are the best little pick me up with a cup of tea.

Key Details

  • Serves: 12
  • Prep time: 15 minutes
  • Cook time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 125g butter
  • 200g porridge oats
  • 150g mixed seeds (linseed, sunflower seeds)
  • 50g mixed nuts (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 100g dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, cherries, apricots)

  • 125g butter
  • 200g porridge oats
  • 150g mixed seeds (linseed, sunflower seeds)
  • 50g mixed nuts (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 100g dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, cherries, apricots)

Preheat the oven to 160°C/300°F/gas 3.

Grease and line a high sided baking tin.

Mix the oats, seeds and nuts in a roasting dish and roast in the oven for 5-10 minutes. Give them a shake every now and then so they don’t catch.

Warm the butter, honey and sugar in a pan until melted. Add your toasted mix, cinnamon and dried fruit and stir.

Tip into a greased and lined high sided baking tin and push down firmly. Bake for another 20 minutes.

Leave to cool before popping in the fridge to set. Once cool, slice into bars and serve!
