  • Cook time: 10-12 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 bottle of beer (preferably a light lager)

  • 4 pork chops
  • 4 tbsp salt
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 bottle of beer (preferably a light lager)

In a bowl mix the salt, brown sugar, garlic, black pepper, and paprika with the lager until the salt and sugar are dissolved.

Add the pork chops to the bowl and make sure they are fully submerged in the brine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to overnight.

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

Remove the pork chops from the brine and pat them dry with paper towels.

Grill the pork chops for about 5-6 minutes each side.

Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving.

The beer in this recipe not only adds flavour to the pork chops but also helps to tenderise them through the brining process that allows the meat proteins to retain more moisture when cooked. This dish pairs well with a cold beer on a hot summer day.
