Ingredients
- 100ml buttermilk
- 120g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 50g sugar
- 1 heaped tbsp honey
- 50g melted unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- ¼tsp grated nutmeg
- ½tsp vanilla extract
- 5 tbsp whipping cream
- 200g icing sugar
- ½tsp vanilla extract
- food colouring
- 100ml buttermilk
- 120g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 50g sugar
- 1 heaped tbsp honey
- 50g melted unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Combine all of your ingredients in a bowl. You’ll be left with a loose batter. Decant into a piping bag and pipe into a doughnut tin (about a third of the way full).
Pop into a preheated oven at 170°C for 11-14 minutes. Once they are golden brown and spring back to the touch, they’re done! Leave to cool and prepare your icing.
- 5 tbsp whipping cream
- 200g icing sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
food colouring
Mix the ingredients together until smooth, divide between 4 bowls and colour them red, blue, purple and white. Pop it back into one large bowl and marble the colours together. It should be of a soft buttercream consistency – add more icing sugar to stiffen if required.
Once your doughnuts have cooled then dip, swirl and enjoy!
